NBA Power Rankings #12/NBA Playoff Picture

British actor Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock, Star Trek: Into Darkness) at the Oscars. Here Cumberbatch is celebrating as 12 Years a Slave won the Oscar for Best Picture.

Power Rankings
1. Indiana Pacers 45-13
Evan Turner has been a valuable volume-scorer off the bench for Indiana, and they have also reclaimed the #1 record in the NBA and the #1 spot on these rankings.
Last Ranking: 3
2. Miami Heat 42-14
Although the Heat have not yet caught the Pacers in the East standings, Paul George & co. are well aware that Miami is breathing down their neck.
Last Ranking: 2
3. Oklahoma City Thunder 44-15
I'm not sure how big of an impact signing washed-up veteran Forward Caron Butler after he was bought out by the Bucks last week will have on this team, but the good news is that Russell Westbrook's knees continue to improve.
Last Ranking: 1
4. Los Angeles Clippers 41-20
Danny Granger will be a great addition to an already loaded Clipper squad, but it still remains to be seen whether he gives them enough to put them over the top.
Last Ranking: 5
5. Portland Trailblazers 41-18
In a surprising turn of events, the Blazers reclaimed the West's #3 seed from the Rockets and are on pace to have home-field advantage in the first round of the playoffs...for now.
Last Ranking: 7
6. San Antonio Spurs 42-16
With 6th man Manu Ginobli getting worse by the second, the Tim Duncan retirement rumors haven't helped either.
Last Ranking: 6
7. Houston Rockets 40-19
Last Ranking: 4
8. Golden State Warriors 36-23
When their shooters are hot, the Warriors are legitimate title-contenders. Unfortunately, they're shooters are not always hot.
Last Ranking: 9
9. Dallas Mavericks 36-24
It looks like Dallas will sneak into the playoffs as a 7 or 8 seed, but this team does not have enough depth to win Dirk Nowvitzski his 2nd championship ring.
Last Ranking: 11
10. Memphis Grizzlies 33-25
Since losing Marc Gasol to injury for a large chunk of the season early this season, the my preseason West favorites have faltered and will have to get hot in these last few games just to make the playoffs.
Last Ranking: 8
11. Phoenix Suns 34-24
Point Guard Goran "The Dragon" Dragic is having a breakthrough season in his second stint in Phoenix and is (in my opinion) the 3rd best Point Guard in the NBA (behind only Stephen Curry and Chris Paul in no particular order.)
Last Ranking: 10
12. Chicago Bulls 32-26
Center Joakhim Noah's career-high 14 assists Sunday was big, overtaking Toronto for the East's #3 seed was bigger.
Last Ranking: 12
13. Toronto Raptors 32-26
Although they've not maintained their hot-streak since the All-Star break, Toronto is a playoff team. Which is exactly what they were hoping for before the season started.
Last Ranking: 13
14. Washington Wizards 31-28
Losing semi-star Nenè hurt, however John Wall & co. still appear poised to sneak into the playoffs.
Last Ranking: 15
15. Brooklyn Nets 28-29
Last Ranking: 14
16. Minnesota Timberwolves 29-29
Last Ranking: 16
17. Charlotte Bobcats 27-31
Last Ranking: 17
18. Atlanta Hawks 26-31
Last Ranking: 20
19. New Orleans Pelicans 23-36
Last Ranking: 18
20. Denver Nuggets 25-33
Last Ranking: 21
21. Cleveland Cavaliers 24-37
Last Ranking: 23
22. Detroit Pistons 23-36
Last Ranking: 23
23. Utah Jazz 21-37
Last Ranking: 22
24. New York Knicks 21-38
Last Ranking: 24
25. Boston Celtics 20-40
Last Ranking: 26
26. Sacramento Kings 20-39
Last Ranking: 25
27. Los Angeles Lakers 20-39
Last Ranking: 27
28. Orlando Magic 18-43
Last Ranking: 28
29. Philadelphia 76ers 15-44
The 76ers are on a...wait for it...14-game losing streak. General Manager Sam Hinkie is absolutely devoted to tanking in order to get a top draft pick in thus years draft as witnessed by him trading his two best players (Evan Turner and Spencer Hawes) at the trade deadline.
Last Ranking: 29
30. Milwaukee Bucks 11-47
Last Ranking: 30
